Melbourne Hospitality People – Essendon VIC seeks an experienced full-time Pizza Chef to own the busy pizza section at Essendon Fields. 100% sourdough program, high-volume services, and close collaboration with the Head Chef set the environment.

The successful candidate will manage dough fermentation, hand stretching, and ensure speed, consistency and quality across services. Competitive salary based on experience and strong team support are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Pizza Chef.
• Confident hand stretching dough.
• Proven ability to work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen.
• Calm, reliable and consistent under pressure.
• Available across weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage 100% sourdough pizza dough.
• Monitor fermentation, proofing and dough quality.
• Hand stretch and shape pizzas consistently.
• Cook pizzas accurately during high-volume services.
• Take ownership of pizza-section preparation, service and pack-down.
• Maintain consistent portioning, presentation and cooking standards.
• Assist with ordering, stock rotation and waste control.
• Maintain food-safety and kitchen-cleanliness standards.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team.
• Support restaurant, function and event services as required.
