Job summary

Perth Airport is seeking two highly skilled Solutions Architects to join our team, with one permanent opportunity and one fixed-term contract. You’ll lead the design and implementation of effective technology solutions across the organisation, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to drive efficiency, innovation and long-term success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of IT and business experience as a Solution Architect or similar, with expertise in networks, data, applications, cloud.
• Strong ability to document options, develop high/low level designs, and create implementation/test plans.
• Experience in developing SOWs, RFPs, and evaluating tenders.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA, Zachman).
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative, adaptable, and customer-focused with change resilience.
• Experience leading digital transformation using AI and AI agents for automation.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships across business units to translate requirements into technology solutions.
• Provide expert technical advice, conduct analyses on options, risk and cost-benefit considerations.
• Develop and maintain architecture artefacts, standards, guidelines, and design docs.
• Ensure all technology systems comply with policies, processes and standards.
• Identify and mitigate technology risks affecting operations.
• Produce detailed documentation including options, designs, and statements of work.
• Govern architecture artefacts in line with the Technology Project Management Framework.

We are on the lookout for two highly skilled Solutions Architects to join our team, with one permanent opportunity and one fixed-term contract opportunity available. You’ll be responsible for leading the design and implementation of effective and reliable technology solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation at all levels and provide expert guidance while delivering architectural solutions that drive efficiency, innovation, and long term success.

What you will do:

• Build strong relationships across all business units to understand and translate business requirements into effective technology solutions.
• Provide expert technical advice, conduct options analyses, evaluate risks and cost benefit considerations for new and existing technology solutions.
• Develop and maintain architecture artefacts, including standards, guidelines, and design documentation to support technology governance.
• Ensure all technology systems comply with policies, processes, and standards.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate technology related risks impacting PAPL business operations.
• Produce detailed documentation, including solution options, high- and low-level designs, and statements of work.
• Govern the development of architecture artefacts in alignment with PAPL’s Technology Project Management Framework.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT and business/industry as a Solution Architect or similar, with expertise in any of the following domains Network and Infrastructure, Data Management and AI, Applications, Cloud.
• Strong ability to document solution options, develop high/low-level designs, and create implementation and test plans.
• Experience in developing statements of work, requests for proposals, and evaluating tenders.
• Practical knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, or Zachman.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non technical audiences.
• A collaborative and open approach to working with stakeholders.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new challenges, and effectively cope with change in a dynamic environment.
• Strong customer focus, with a proactive approach to identifying needs, exploring solutions, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.
• Demonstrable experience leading digital transformation using AI and AI agents to empower automation, improving process quality and delivering productivity improvements.
