Job summary

AJQ Consulting, a leading IT and professional services provider, is partnering with a wealth management leader on a major transformation. We are seeking a Solution Designer for a 6-month contract with potential extension.

You will validate designs for a third-party platform, ensure secure, scalable integration and alignment with enterprise architecture standards. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to refine solutions and maintain design integrity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in technology within a large enterprise
• 5+ years experience in wealth or financial services
• Experience in design/architecture and development, ideally within wealth sector
• Experience in cloud environments and hands-on cloud-native technologies
• Expert in eliciting requirements and stakeholder management
• Strong ability to communicate complex tech concepts to varied audiences

Responsibilities

• Validate solution designs for a third-party white-labelled platform ensuring integration, security and EA alignment
• Partner with external vendors and internal teams to review, refine and validate designs for scalability and seamless integration
• Define and design technology solutions to meet business objectives including service, process and operating model changes
• Develop and implement technology solutions to ensure delivery within agreed timeframes
• Deliver High Level Designs (HLDs), Detail Level Designs (DLDs) and Technical Maintenance Plans (TMPs)
• Facilitate governance, assurance and standards to guide decision making and ensure solution consistency across components
• Stay current on industry trends in wealth management tech and enterprise architecture, including Azure

This key program represents a significant portion of the organisation’s strategic investment for the year ahead.

The Role:

Responsible for validating solution designs for a third-party white-labelled platform to ensure seamless integration, security and strict alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

Partner with external vendors and internal teams to review, refine and validate solution designs. Assess and validate solution designs to ensure scalability, performance and seamless integration across platforms.

You will:

Define and design technology solutions to assist the business in meeting their business objectives including technology solutions and changes to service, process and/or operating models

Develop and implement technology solutions to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and to agreed timeframes

Deliver High Level Designs (HLDs), Detail Level Design (DLDs), Technical Maintenance Plans (TMPs) associated with the assigned solution

Facilitate the creation of governance, assurance and standards to guide decision making

Control technical scope and apply solution consistency across technology components throughout initiatives and themes

Strong understanding of web/cloud-based solution eco systems and Azure

Remain current on industry trends and developments in technology, wealth management solutions

Maintain up to date knowledge of the organisation’s strategic business plans and possible impacts on enterprise architecture

Provide expert technical advice to both technical and non-technical audiences

Facilitate workshops with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers, senior executives and third parties

Authoring policies and procedures as they relate to the solution architecture domain

Ensure all relevant documentation is completed, filed and distributed in an efficient and timely manner

To Be Successful in this role you will have:

Minimum 10 years experience working in a technology role in a large enterprise environment

Minimum 5 years experience in wealth or financial services

Strong design/architecture and development experience, ideally within the wealth sector

Experience in designing and implementing solutions that meet business needs

Experience working in cloud environments and hands-on experience with cloud native technologies

Expert in eliciting requirements and requirement management

Highly skilled in stakeholder management

Expert-level knowledge across a broad range of technologies, platforms and different vendor offerings

Expert in communicating complex technological concepts at a level appropriate to the intended audience

Outstanding written and oral communication skills

High degree of understanding of IT security principles and how to incorporate best practices into architectural solutions

Detailed understanding of data privacy and privacy law and how they relate to technology solutions

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required

Strong organisational and time management skills

Strong customer service skills and a commitment to excellence
