Job summary

Sungrow is seeking an Engineering Lead to drive technical leadership across renewable energy projects, from concept through commissioning. You will align with project managers, solution engineers, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure compliant, timely delivery and robust documentation.

You will oversee risk, standards, and design reviews, while supporting operations and asset management for long‑term reliability. Travel to project sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• 3+ years in engineering project delivery, with 1+ years in renewable energy or utility-scale power.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems, power electronics, grid integration, and energy storage.
• Familiarity with engineering standards and regulations including BESS and Inverter systems (AS/NZS, IEC, IEEE, NEC, local grid codes).
• Experience in engineering design software such as AutoCAD.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent leadership and communication to coordinate teams and interface with customers.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

This role ensures all engineering activities meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards while supporting seamless project execution from concept through commissioning. Working closely with project managers, solution engineers, site teams, and external stakeholders, the Engineering Lead oversees engineering documentation, risk identification, and compliance, and contributes to continuous improvement of engineering processes. The role also provides technical support to operations, maintenance, and asset management teams to ensure long‑term performance and reliability of deployed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide the technical leadership in the engineering execution of renewable energy projects (solar, battery storage, etc.).
• Oversee the technical issues in the design, delivery, and acceptance phases to ensure compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, solution engineers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Develop and review engineering documentation, including technical drawings, design reports, and compliance reports.
• Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and asset management teams.
• Review tender response document, contract document, and design documents, to identify and mitigate risks that could impact project timelines, budget, or performance.
• Support the continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in engineering project delivery, with 1+ years in renewable energy or power infrastructure of utility scale.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, power electronics, grid integration, and energy storage solutions.
• Familiarity with engineering standards and regulations including those relating to BESS and Inverter system (AS/NZS series, IEC, IEEE, NEC, local grid codes, etc.).
• Experience in engineering design software (AutoCAD or similar).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent leadership skills to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with both internal teams and customer for complex requirement clarification and solution development.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• EA Qualifications or equivalent certification in relevant area.
• Knowledge of SCADA, PPC, EMS for energy systems.
• Previous experience in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment.
