AustralianSuper is seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Technology Platforms to lead architecture roadmaps, patterns and governance across enterprise technology platforms. Your New Role

Are you an experienced Solution Architect who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery outcomes?

As Solution Architect – Technology Platforms, you'll manage a portfolio of technologies and be responsible for developing architecture roadmaps, patterns, standards and future-state direction across key enterprise platforms. You'll work closely with technology leaders, delivery teams, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned to strategic objectives while maintaining strong governance and architecture discipline.

This role offers broad exposure across AustralianSuper's technology environment, with a particular focus on Azure infrastructure, cloud services and integration platforms. You'll provide architectural leadership, guide investment decisions, evaluate emerging technologies and help standardise architecture patterns and governance across the Fund.

Success in this role will come from your ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships, influence decision making, manage competing priorities and articulate technology strategy in a way that is practical, scalable and aligned to business outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps, blueprints, standards and future-state technology strategies for your portfolio.
• Provide architectural guidance and solution oversight across major technology initiatives and programs.
• Lead architecture reviews and governance activities, ensuring alignment to enterprise strategy, patterns and standards.
• Partner with technology, business and vendor stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, risks and technology investments.
• Drive consistency and standardisation across architecture practices, governance frameworks and design approaches.
• Assess emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve capability, efficiency and member outcomes.
• Act as the primary architecture contact for your technology area, providing expert guidance across multiple initiatives.

What You'll Need

• Strong Solution Architecture experience within Financial Services or another large, complex and highly regulated industry.
• Extensive experience developing technology roadmaps, architectural patterns, standards and governance frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability with experience engaging technical and non-technical audiences.
• Broad technology exposure across enterprise platforms, cloud technologies and integrations.
• Strong experience with Azure, including cloud infrastructure, platform services and integration technologies.
• Experience creating and implementing pattern-based architecture approaches across enterprise platforms.
• Understanding of AI technologies and concepts, including awareness of emerging tools, capabilities, benefits and trade-offs.
• Demonstrated ability to balance strategic architecture planning with practical delivery outcomes.
• Experience operating within Agile delivery environments and enterprise governance frameworks.

Highly Regarded

• Azure certifications.TOGAF certification or strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and / or ITIL knowledge or certification.
• Microsoft 365 architecture experience.
• Experience working with large-scale cloud transformation or modernisation programs.
