Venetian Plaster Gallery Melbourne Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Solid Plasterer for a full-time, ongoing role at our Williamstown site in Melbourne, Victoria. The successful candidate will perform a broad range of plastering tasks to support our projects and uphold high standards of finish.

The position offers a salary of $76,515 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, with standard hours and potential overtime depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Solid Plasterer or in a similar role.
• Trade qualification in plastering preferred.
• Ability to read plans and specifications.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Reliability and punctuality essential.

Responsibilities

• Determining plasterboard layout, installing insulation and vapour barriers
• Measuring, marking, and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings, and battens
• Preparing and securing corner beads
• Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres, and other plaster fittings
• Covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing with wet brushes and sandpaper
• Mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement, and render using trowels, levelling and smoothing to uniform thickness
• Creating decorative textures in finishing coats
• Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating, and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement, and similar materials
