Job summary

Montgomery Advisory in Sydney seeks a Solicitor (2–4 PAE) to join a leading Private Equity & Venture Capital practice. You will work closely with Corporate Partners and a national team on complex M&A transactions.

Responsibilities include acting for PE sponsors and investors, supporting capital raisings from early-stage to pre-IPO, drafting and negotiating key documents, completing due diligence, and coordinating transactions with clients and advisers throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years' post-admission experience within a well-regarded Corporate M&A practice.
• Strong experience in corporate M&A transactions, ideally involving private equity, venture capital or growth equity investments.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and transaction management skills.

The Team

The Private Equity & Venture Capital team advises leading domestic and international clients on complex M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions, spanning early-stage investments through to pre-IPO capital raises and exits.

The Role

An excellent opportunity exists for a Solicitor (2–4 PAE) to join a market-leading Private Equity & Venture Capital practice in Sydney.

Working closely with experienced Corporate Partners and a collaborative national team, you will:

• Act for leading private equity sponsors, venture capital funds, institutional investors and high-growth companies.


• Assist with venture capital and growth equity capital raisings, from early-stage investments through to pre-IPO transactions.


• Draft, review and negotiate key transaction documents, including share purchase agreements, investment agreements and shareholder arrangements.

About you

Ideally, you will have 2–4 years' post-admission experience gained within a well-regarded Corporate M&A practice.

Additionally, you will have:

• Strong experience in corporate M&A transactions, ideally involving private equity, venture capital or growth equity investments.


• Excellent drafting, analytical and transaction management skills.


• A proactive, collaborative approach and an interest in developing client relationships and mentoring junior lawyers.


• Admission to practise law in Australia or New Zealand.
