Job summary

Bouygues Construction Australia is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to lead on-site construction, electrical and commissioning activities for a solar farm project in Muswellbrook, Australia. You will coordinate multiple subcontractors, manage labour and materials, and ensure safety, schedule, and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Current Electrical Licence is essential.
• Current Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) and CPR training are essential.
• High Voltage Switching certification and CoR, or equivalent authorised-person qualifications, are required.
• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent, Electrical Superintendent, Site Superintendent, Foreman, or similar site-based leadership role.
• Experience delivering utility-scale solar farms, renewable-energy projects, substations, transmission infrastructure, or major electrical construction projects.
• Experience supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, HV equipment, and associated electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all on-site solar farm construction activities from mobilisation through to commissioning, energisation, completion, and handover.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce the project construction schedule, including short-term look-ahead plans and daily work priorities.
• Coordinate civil, piling, mechanical, electrical, high-voltage, SCADA, communications, and commissioning subcontractors.
• Manage the installation of solar PV modules, mounting structures, trackers, inverters, cables, transformers, switchgear, substations, and balance-of-plant infra.
• Ensure all work complies with drawings, specs, quality, electrical standards, grid connection, and legislation.
• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety procedures and HV protocols.
• Monitor workforce productivity and identify risks affecting safety, schedule, cost, or commissioning outcomes.
• Review drawings to identify constructability, access, sequencing, installation, and commissioning concerns.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, quality-control checks, and hold points with engineers, network representatives, authorities, and clients.
• Maintain site documentation: daily reports, diaries, photos, manpower, delivery dockets, inspection records, test results, commissioning docs.
• Manage site logistics: access roads, laydown, storage, security, traffic, power, and amenities.
• Communicate progress, risks, variations, delays, defects, and site conditions to the Project Manager.
• Support project closeout with punch lists, final inspections, testing, commissioning, as-built docs, training, and handover.
