Qualifications

• At least two years of commercial software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and experience with React.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: OOP, data structures, design patterns and version control.

Responsibilities

• Be a hands-on contributor within a capability team; designing, implementing, and testing new features across the full stack while ensuring product cohesion, stability, and scalability.
• Contribute to feature-level technical design, making sound choices and keeping complexity under control.
• Participate in code reviews, learning best practices and helping maintain code quality, standards, and maintainability.
• Support the development of cloud-native solutions with an awareness of scalability, resilience, and reliability (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Assist in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects and performance bottlenecks through optimisation techniques.
• Utilise containerisation, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous feedback processes.
• Apply best practices in quality engineering to ensure assigned code components are backed by appropriate test coverage.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and workflows to support your day-to-day coding, learning, and delivery speed.
