Job summary

Halcyon Knights in Canberra CBD is seeking a Software Engineer – Integration Support Specialist to develop, maintain and support integration solutions using Microsoft Azure, ESB, API Management and Web APIs.

The role emphasises data sharing across COTS and custom applications, improving Azure DevOps pipelines, creating technical designs and collaborating with stakeholders to meet milestones within a government ICT program.

Qualifications

• Formal IT, CS or related discipline or 5+ years equivalent experience.
• Strong experience building integration solutions with Microsoft Azure (ESB, App Service, Functions, API Management).
• Demonstrated experience with .NET Framework and API/Web Services.
• Ability to liaise with stakeholders and work in multidisciplinary teams within complex ICT environments.

Responsibilities

• Co-design and deliver integration solutions across COTS and custom apps via APIs and web services.
• Develop and maintain Azure integration solutions and Web APIs, and improve Azure DevOps pipelines.

Software Engineer – Integration Support Specialist

• Contract: 9 months + 12 month option
• Location: Canberra CBD + WFH (Hybrid)
• Clearance: Australian Citizens holding a Baseline Clearance preferred

About the Role

Our Federal Government Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer – Integration Support Specialist to join its Information Technology Branch (ITB).

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex ICT solutions and capital projects, with a strong focus on systems integration, Microsoft Azure and API-based application development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of the Client's integration solutions, including Microsoft Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Azure Web Applications, Service Bus, Storage and API Management.

Key Responsibilities

As the Integration Support Specialist, you will:

• Co-design and deliver integration solutions enabling data sharing across COTS and custom-built applications, including EAP, TRIM, SAP and bespoke applications using APIs and Web Services.
• Develop and maintain Azure integration solutions and Web APIs, including improving Azure DevOps pipelines and deployment components.
• Develop technical documentation, solution designs and architecture artefacts throughout the application development lifecycle.
• Investigate priority incidents, identify root causes and work collaboratively across teams to deliver timely resolutions.
• Design and implement approaches to data sharing across Azure storage solutions.
• Provide technical mentoring and support to other developers and application support teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, including non-technical clients, to ensure deliverables are achieved in accordance with agreed milestones.
• Identify, assess and report on risks associated with project and delivery outcomes.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

To be successful, you will have:

• Formal qualifications in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline, or 5+ years of equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Strong experience developing integration solutions using Microsoft Azure, including:
  • Azure Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
  • Azure App Service
  • Azure Functions
  • Azure API Management
• Demonstrated experience developing composite applications using contemporary Microsoft integration technologies.
• Strong experience with the Microsoft .NET Framework.
• Proven ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in complex ICT environments.
• Knowledge and practical experience across application lifecycle management and ITIL practices.
• Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and their strategic application to business requirements.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Highly regarded candidates will also have:

• Experience building and deploying applications using VSTS / Azure DevOps.
• Experience building and maintaining SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) solutions.
• Experience in strategic planning, ICT governance and project management.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Relevant industry certifications or current study towards an ICT certification.

Rate

• $150.00 per hour inc Super or ex GST / Weekly pays
