Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of applied experience in enterprise software development.
  • Broader knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) and ORM frameworks (Entity Framework, Dapper).
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise AI-assisted software development tools with ability to evaluate outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling.

Responsibilities

  • Design and contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications using C# and the modern .NET ecosystem (.NET 6/7/8+).
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis through deployment and operations.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs, event-driven microservices, and distributed systems with clean code and scalable patterns.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL including schema design, queries, indexing, and performance tuning for high-volume workloads.
  • Collaborate with AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and ensure outputs are peer-reviewed, tested, and secure.

Job description

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within Commercial & Investment Bank Technology, you will build and sustain distributed microservices on AWS and PostgreSQL-backed platforms supporting mission-critical services.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with peers, product owners, and architects, ensuring that your technical contributions align with compliance standards, service level agreements, and the firm’s strategic objectives. Job Responsibilities
  • Design and contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications using C# and the modern .NET ecosystem (.NET 6/7/8+), building scalable, high-availability solutions that serve critical business functions across the Commercial & Investment Bank.
  • Strong command of object-oriented programming principles, SOLID design, and established architectural patterns.
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle — from requirements analysis and system design through to production deployment and ongoing operational stability.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs, event-driven microservices, and distributed systems, applying industry-standard design patterns and clean code principles to ensure maintainability and long-term extensibility.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL including advanced schema design, query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance analysis for high-volume workloads. Broader knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) and experience with ORM frameworks (Entity Framework, Dapper) is required.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, or equivalent platforms, including the ability to evaluate output quality and apply responsible usage practices in day-to-day engineering work.
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.

  • 5+ Years of applied experience in enterprise software development.
  • Broader knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) and experience with ORM frameworks (Entity Framework, Dapper) is required
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred, though equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Experience with platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Spinnaker. Frontend Integration
  • Domain knowledge of financial services — including securities services, fund administration, custody, or capital markets technology.
