About The Role

As a Full Stack Engineer in Sportsbet’s Technology team, you’ll independently deliver well‑scoped, medium‑complexity features from end to end. You’ll create clean, maintainable solutions, contribute to design discussions and code reviews, and build strong operational awareness of the services you own. This is a full‑time role based in Melbourne, working closely with engineering, product, business analysis, QA and domain specialists.

Responsibilities Include:

• Analyse requirements, constraints and dependencies, raise risks early, and deliver quality features independently.
• Build clean, maintainable and secure solutions using team standards, testing practices and thoughtful refactoring.
• Contribute practical ideas to solution design and code reviews, considering technical trade‑offs and operational impacts.
• Monitor production impacts, respond to incidents when required, and improve reliability through fixes, automation, on‑call and support activities.
• Collaborate across engineering and delivery teams, contribute constructive feedback, and share knowledge through reviews and engineering working groups.

About You

You’re a curious and pragmatic engineer who takes ownership, enjoys solving problems and continues learning as technology evolves. You communicate constructively, build effective stakeholder relationships and are comfortable challenging assumptions in a firm but fair way. You balance delivery with quality, think holistically about design and validation, and know when to seek guidance on more ambiguous problems.

What You Will Bring:

• Proven experience in a relevant technical domain.
• Full stack capability across TypeScript, React, React Native (ideally), state management and frontend build tooling, together with Java, Kotlin, Node.js and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot or Express.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, working with OpenAPI or Swagger and GraphQL, and building secure, scalable applications using sound design patterns, refactoring and unit or integration testing.
• Hands‑on knowledge of AWS, Docker, microservices, event‑driven architecture, Kafka, relational and non‑relational databases, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, networking, caching and Git.
• Confident use of AI coding assistants and agentic development tools, including prompt engineering and the ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security and maintainability.
