Job summary

Nine Entertainment Co is seeking a Software Engineer to join a 12-month contract in North Sydney, NSW. You will build Golang backends and APIs to digitise and productise Australia’s archive, delivering scalable cloud-native solutions.

You’ll work in an autonomous Agile squad, shipping code through Kubernetes environments and collaborating with product teams to meet high-quality delivery goals.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in software engineering.
• Proficient in Go, JavaScript, React, Python, and Bash.
• Experience with AWS and/or GCP services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or other databases.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid networking concepts and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-performance Golang backend services and APIs for the media archive.
• Develop cloud-native solutions on AWS/GCP and scalable microservices.
• Create automated media processing modules to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Participate in full deployment lifecycle within Kubernetes environments.
