Job summary

Peoplebank is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Advice Technology team, delivering enhancements, supporting critical applications, and driving continuous improvement in a modern technology environment.

In An Agile role you will analyse, design, develop, test and deploy quality software, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and help ensure scalable, reliable solutions that align with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Up to 10 years of software development experience across design, development, testing, deployment and support.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Kotlin, JavaScript and Python.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and full-stack development practices.
• Experience with modern web technologies, single-page applications and UI/UX fundamentals.
• Exposure to Agile delivery, automated testing, Continuous Delivery and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and VectorPG.
• Knowledge of messaging technologies, development frameworks and Unix/Linux environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deliver high-quality software enhancements and new capabilities.
• Conduct technical analysis and contribute to solution design activities.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve application issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ongoing application maintenance.
• Participate in discovery workshops, sprint ceremonies and daily stand-ups.
• Adhere to engineering standards, team practices and quality frameworks.
• Monitor application health, proactively manage alerts and support production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
