Job summary

Gramian Consulting Group is seeking Backend Software Engineers to contribute to a next-generation AI training initiative. You will design realistic coding tasks, implement feature work, fix bugs, and create deterministic verifiers to validate solutions across languages.

This role welcomes experienced backend engineers who enjoy complex codebases and building scalable services. Remote opportunity offering flexible hours across regions; prior AI experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on backend development experience with one or more of the listed languages.
• Demonstrated experience building scalable backend services and APIs.
• Practical experience with debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
• Experience reviewing code and assessing software quality, correctness, and maintainability.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and foundational CS concepts.
• Ability to independently analyze technical problems and develop reliable solutions.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
• Bachelor's degree from an English-native country is required for Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design realistic and challenging coding tasks involving feature implementation and bug fixes.
• Create tasks reflecting authentic backend engineering workflows and practical software development challenges.
• Develop deterministic verifiers that accept reasonable valid solutions and reject incorrect implementations.
• Build and validate solutions using backend programming languages such as Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, or C++.
• Develop tasks involving scalable services, APIs, debugging, performance optimization, and automated testing.
• Review code quality, maintainability, correctness, and adherence to technical requirements.
• Design evaluation criteria that distinguish robust solutions from superficially plausible implementations.
• Incorporate security considerations into tasks and verifiers where applicable.
• Document assumptions, expected behavior, edge cases, and validation requirements.
• Apply independent technical judgment throughout the task development and review process.

This role is ideal for experienced backend engineers who enjoy working with complex codebases, building scalable services, debugging technical issues, and evaluating whether software solutions are correct, robust, and reliable. Prior AI experience is not required.
