Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver robust Java-based solutions and integrate AI agents into development workflows.

The role requires strong testing skills, troubleshooting ability, and experience with RESTful services, microservices, and cloud technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Software Engineering with modern Java frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful web services and microservices.
• Strong OOP skills and familiarity with Agile lifecycle.
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work in team/independent settings.
• Ability to work on customer site in Hanover, MD and Enlighten’s Columbia, MD office as required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Stay current with trends and technologies in software development.
• Integrate autonomous AI agents (Claude Code, Gemini) into workflows.
• Develop robust unit/integration tests and ensure security and performance.
