Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced software for computer-based systems. You will work with modern tools, collaborate with engineers, and stay current with evolving technologies.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, testing, and integration of AI-driven workflows in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have strong Java expertise, RESTful services, and experience with microservices, Linux, and CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
5+ years of experience in Software Engineering with Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava) or 3 years with a Masters in related field.
Experience in RESTful web services.
Experience in Microservices architecture.
Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms.
Experience with the agile software lifecycle.
Experience with the Linux operating system.
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Git, Nexus, Maven).
Hybrid work environment; 1-2 days per week at Columbia, MD office.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems.
Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Stay up-to-date with latest developments in software engineering.
Lead and participate in testing to ensure robust unit and integration tests.
Guide AI agents in multi-repository architectures while auditing for security and performance.
