Job summary

Nuage is a Melbourne-based technology consultancy redefining how software is built, combining hands-on feature delivery with tooling and practices that enable AI-assisted development. You will split your time between delivering features in a product squad and shaping the tooling that makes this new approach stick.

Design and implement AI-driven features, write specs for AI-assisted implementation, and build secure tool-calling integrations.

Qualifications

• Solid engineering fundamentals with broad architectural judgement.
• Hands-on experience with agent loops and MCP-like tooling.
• Experience with model providers (Anthropic/OpenAI/Vertex AI) and MCP familiarity.
• Full stack engineering experience.

Job description

My client is an Australian owned technology consultancy moving to a new way of building software, where engineers write specs and direct AI coding tools. You'll split your time between hands on feature delivery inside a product squad and helping build out the tooling and practices that make this way of working stick.

What you'll bring

• Solid engineering fundamentals, not tied to one stack, with good judgement on architecture
• Real hands-on time with agent loops, MCP servers or similar tool-calling setups, ideally already working spec-first
• Working knowledge of at least one major model provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Vertex AI) and familiarity with MCP; LangChain or LangGraph
• Full stack experience

The details

• 6 month initial contract, $700 a day plus GST
• Melbourne based, 2 to 3 days a week in office
