Job summary

BambooHR in Sydney is seeking a Senior Software Engineer/Developer with experience in PHP, Perl, Python or Ruby to contribute to the next generation of our HR software. You'll work on multiple projects to keep us the #1 HR software for SMBs.

You will write backend code, research technologies, optimize performance, and collaborate with the team to integrate projects into the application. Strong OO design and MySQL skills are valued, and experience with Mercurial or Git is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in web development.
• Experience in PHP, HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS.
• Object oriented development.
• MySQL both SQL and database design.
• Version control software, preferably Mercurial or Git.

• Write code for backend processes, RESTful public web API's, and our industry leading website.
• Research technologies and engineer complete solutions to problems.
• Propose and implement performance optimizations and scaling strategies.

What You Need to Get the Job Done (Minimum Qualifications)

• 5+ years experience in web development
• Experience in PHP, HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS
• Object Oriented development
• MySQL - both SQL query language and database structure/design
• Version control software, preferably Mercurial or Git
