Job summary

AUSTRALIA NETWORK SERVICES PTY LTD – Strathfield NSW is seeking a qualified Software Engineer for a full-time, permanent position in Sydney. You will design, develop, test, maintain, and improve software applications and systems across frontend and backend components.

The role covers requirements analysis, system design, and deployment, with emphasis on RESTful APIs, databases, and DevOps practices. Expected to collaborate with product teams to deliver scalable software solutions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer or similar role.
  • Frontend development experience with JavaScript, React, and Vue.js.

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with SQL-based databases.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, platforms, and system features.
  • Develop frontend interfaces using JavaScript, React, Vue.js, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and application logic.
  • Design, manage, and optimise databases using SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and support integration between internal systems and third-party platforms.
  • Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code in accordance with development standards.
  • Conduct debugging, troubleshooting, code reviews, and performance optimisation.
  • Participate in system design, software architecture planning, and technical documentation.
  • Support cloud-based deployment, version control, CI/CD, and DevOps activities using tools such as AWS, Azure, Git, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Work with product managers, designers, business users, and technical teams to deliver software that meets business objectives.
  • Prepare user guides, technical documentation, release notes, and system support materials.
  • Maintain data security, system reliability, and compliance with workplace policies and procedures.
  • Support ongoing system upgrades, enhancements, and legacy system improvements.

Essential Requirements
