Murdoch Children’s Research Institute is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain web applications, data pipelines and enterprise services in Melbourne. You will own end-to-end systems from development to deployment, and contribute to CI/CD, monitoring and automation in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

The role requires strong React/TypeScript frontend skills, Python automation, and experience with databases.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering high-quality solutions. You'll work with modern development practices, collaborate with passionate stakeholders and play a key role in advancing technology platforms that support globally recognised research outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, maintain and enhance web applications, data pipelines and enterprise services

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• Experience developing front-end applications using React and TypeScript
• Strong Python development and automation skills
• Experience working with databases, SQL and data troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or OpenTofu
