Job summary

Halcyon Knights in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own and advance C/C++ development for Linux-based medical devices. You will work across embedded software, hardware integration and regulated development within a multidisciplinary team.

You’ll design, implement and test reliable software, contribute to verification and validation activities, and help ensure traceability and compliance in a fast-growing MedTech environment.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial C/C++ development experience.
• Experience with Linux and embedded systems.
• Experience integrating software with hardware or connected devices.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as BLE, NFC, I2C, SPI or UART.
• Experience within MedTech, embedded systems or another regulated or safety-critical environment.
• IEC 62304, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, Qt/QML, RTOS or secure OTA updates would be advantageous but is not essential.

An innovative, venture-backed Australian MedTech company is developing next-generation monitoring technology designed to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes during childbirth.

Bringing together specialists across software, hardware, electronics, clinical research and data science, the business is continuing to develop and advance its innovative medical technology.

They are now looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on engineering role working across embedded software, hardware and regulated medical-device development.

You will design, develop and test reliable software using C/C++ within Linux and embedded environments. Working alongside firmware, hardware, clinical and regulatory specialists, you will support the development and integration of a complex connected medical device.
