Job summary

Inventec Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Software Engineer to join our banking and financial services delivery team, working across the full stack—from Java/Spring Boot backends to React and Next.js front ends, with cloud-based platforms.

You’ll bridge technical delivery with banking domain requirements such as payments, lending, KYC, and customer processes, while contributing to AI-enabled document intelligence solutions and supporting SIT/UAT cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Solid experience building full-stack Java/Spring Boot backends and React/Next.js frontends.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and API design (REST/SOAP).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and Next.js.
• Build and consume REST and SOAP APIs with OpenAPI.
• Implement security controls (RBAC, CSRF) and secure session management.
• Configure CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments on Azure and AWS.

Job description

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our banking and financial services delivery team. You'll work across the full stack - from Java/Spring Boot backends to React and Next.js front ends, Cloud Based Platforms - building and integrating systems for clients. This role also carries techno-functional responsibility: you'll bridge technical delivery with banking domain requirements such as banking, payments, lending, KYC, and customer processes.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and Next.js

Design and integrate REST and SOAP APIs, using a contract-first approach with Swagger/OpenAPI

Build and support cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure (Logic Apps, Function Apps, Azure SQL, Azure AI Services) and AWS (EC2)

Implement application security controls, including RBAC, CSRF protection, encrypted session management, and remediation of security testing findings

Produce system, database, and front-end design documentation across the delivery lifecycle

Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines and environments (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure Pipelines, OpenShift, Git)

Contribute to AI-enabled document intelligence solutions, including LLM integration, vector database retrieval, and RAG-based search

Support SIT/UAT cycles, including defect triage, root-cause analysis, and release coordination

Provide techno-functional input that connects technical solutions to banking domain requirements

Skills and Experience We are Looking For

Backend: Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate, Node.js, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, JUnit, Swagger/OpenAPI

Frontend: React, Next.js (App Router), Tailwind CSS, SSR/SSG/CSR strategies

Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, MySQL, and exposure to vector databases

Security: RBAC, CSRF protection, secure session management, security testing remediation

Testing & tools: JUnit, SoapUI, Postman, Jira, Confluence, IntelliJ IDEA / VS Code

Academics: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Willingness to travel to Papua New Guinea at our customer location based on project needs

Pacific Island cultural awareness, and work remotely with Pacific Island-based professionals

Understand the Pacific market business context for Banking Payments, Lending, KYC, and Customer domains

Techno-functional mindset - able to design and implement solutions from both a technical and banking-functional perspective
