Job description

Australian Citizens residing in Australia only respond.

  • Contract start 06 March 2023 To 12 months, 2 x 12 months extensions.
  • Australian Citizen, Ability to obtain Baseline Clearance, Canberra, Offsite role.

The Software Developer within the Cognitive Futures team works on diverse projects that deliver advanced tools and services for internal and external stakeholders. The Software Developer will work within a team of software developers, data scientists, and business representatives to deliver solutions often utilising emerging technologies such as AI/ML and Natural Language Processing.

The candidate will have:

  • Experience writing high quality Python code
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Experience with Commercial Cloud Platforms (preferably AWS)
  • Strong commitment to testing and software quality assurance
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Relevant experience and/or qualifications in software engineering
  • Experience with Machine Learning or MLOps would be favourable
  • Ability to obtain baseline clearance

Deliverables include;

  • Work with data scientists and software engineers to create and maintain tools, services, and applications.
  • Explore new ideas and apply innovative techniques to build new and improve existing solutions
  • Deliver software solutions utilising the AWS commercial cloud platform
  • Provide technical advice to software engineers, data scientists and executive stakeholders in-person, through presentations and via Teams, email, and formal documentation
  • Building new and improving existing DevOps pipelines
