Communities connected with care
That’s our vision. We make the clinical and practice management software that over 7000 Australian Practices run on, used every working day by GPs, Practice Managers, Nurses, Allied Health Providers and Administrative Staff. We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to work on Bp Premier, our flagship product, and to lift the engineering practice of the team around them.
Bp Premier is the clinical system that thousands of Australian Practices open every morning. It has been in the field for over twenty years, and it is still where most of our customers do most of their work. It must keep working, and it has to keep pace with regulatory change. The codebase reflects that history. New work is written in C#, with SQL Server underneath, and the long-standing core is written in Visual Objects. Almost nobody arrives knowing Visual Objects, and we’re not expecting you to. What we need is someone strong in SQL and .NET who has worked in large, old, complicated code before and wants more of it. We’ll teach you the rest.
This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to a Product Lead. Delivery is one-half of it. The other half is making the team better: pairing, writing down what currently lives in people’s heads, and making the codebase less intimidating to work in. We also want your outside perspective. If you’ve seen tooling or practices that worked well elsewhere, we want you to make the case for them here. Quality, clinical safety and patient privacy are part of the day job.
As a Software Developer, we’ll call on your unique talents, skills, expertise, and experience to:
We believe our ideal applicant will demonstrate the following attributes:

You’ll also access our leadership development program and learning opportunities across our group of businesses and enjoy the freedom and flexibility to work as you work best. We offer purpose and impact, an inclusive culture, a connected workforce, transparent leadership, and growth and belonging.
