Job summary

Department for Child Protection in Coober Pedy is seeking a Social Worker (Allied Health Professional) or Case Manager (Professional Officer) for a full-time temporary vacancy working across Coober Pedy and APY Lands. FIFO roster of 8 days on, 6 days off, delivering high-quality case management for children and families.

The role requires a Social Work qualification or relevant field, with eligibility for AASW membership for AHP1 or other professional discipline for PO1.

Qualifications

• Requires Social Work qualification and eligibility for full membership with AASW
• PO positions require relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health or related fields

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess and review notifications of child abuse and outcomes of investigations
• Oversee the protection of children and young people through sound case management and inclusive practice
• Understand the nuances of child development and parenting capacity to fulfill the needs and interests of children and young people
• Implement DCP’s Practice Approach to inform culturally inclusive practice
• Produce informative written and verbal reports capturing reliable data and evidence-based reporting processes
