Goulburn Valley Health is seeking a Social Worker to join the Acute, Sub Acute and Outpatients team in Shepparton. You will support patients and families, collaborate with a wide multidisciplinary group, and contribute to care planning across medical, surgical, maternity, renal and outpatient services.

The role requires AASW-eligible social work qualification, strong psychosocial assessment skills, and proven ability to manage a clinical caseload within a dynamic health service.

About the Role

This is an exciring opportunity to join the Social Work Department at GV Health. In this position you will enjoy working collaboratively as part of a multi disciplinary team across the acute units including Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Maternity, Critical Care, Paediatrics, Emergency and across the Outpatient Clinics including Renal and Ante Natal. This position may also include work in the Mary Coram Rehabilitation Unit. Working as a member of a cohesive team, you will be well supported as you manage a diverse caseload providing practical and emotional support to patients and their families to assist in the management of changes to health and wellbeing.

We are looking for

• An approved tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Demonstrated skills in assessment and intervention options for patients with diverse and complex psychosocial circumstances
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independantly and as an active member of an interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrated time management and organisational skills in the management of a clinical caseload and non-clinical responsibilities
• Experience in a healthcare setting
