Job summary

GV Health in Shepparton invites applications for a Social Worker in Acute, Sub Acute and Outpatients. You will join a multidisciplinary team across multiple units, providing practical and emotional support to patients and families as health and wellbeing changes are managed.

The role requires an approved Social Work qualification and AASW eligibility, with demonstrated experience in psychosocial assessment, independent and team-based work, and effective caseload management within a healthcare

Qualifications

• An approved tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Demonstrated skills in assessment and intervention options for patients with diverse and complex psychosocial circumstances
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both Independently and as an active member of an interdisciplinary team
• Demonstrated time management and organisational skills in the management of a clinical caseload and non-clinical responsibilities
• Experience in a healthcare setting

Responsibilities

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Social Work Department at GV Health. In this position you will enjoy working collaboratively as part of a multi disciplinary team across the acute units including Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Maternity, Critical Care, Paediatrics, Emergency and across the Outpatient Clinics including Renal and Ante Natal. This position may also include work in the Mary Coram Rehabilitation Unit.

Working as a member of a cohesive team, you will be well supported as you manage a diverse caseload providing practical and emotional support to patients and their families to assist in the management of changes to health and wellbeing.
