About the Role:
We are seeking suitably qualified Social Workers with at least one year of experience to join our Social Work Department at The Canberra Hospital.

In this role, you will provide skilled clinical assessment and psychosocial interventions to patients and carers across a range of specialty areas, including critical care, medical, surgical, maternity and paediatric services. You will work collaboratively with patients, families and service providers to support positive clinical outcomes and contribute to health promotion and service improvement initiatives.

You will exercise independent professional judgement in routine clinical matters while managing more complex presentations with professional support and supervision. As your experience and expertise develop, you will take increasing responsibility for clinical decision‑making.

Our department is committed to supporting social workers transitioning into hospital‑based practice. Successful applicants will have access to supervision, support from our Social Work Clinical Educator, and funded professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and career development.

While positions are offered on a full‑time basis, reduced hours may be considered.

• Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011is required.
• Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
