Job summary

ACT Health invites applications for an Allied Health Assistant Level 2/3 at The Canberra Hospital. You will work within a supervision framework to support physiotherapists in delivering rehabilitation programs and to engage with patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team to achieve optimal care outcomes.

The role spans inpatient and outpatient settings with opportunities for professional growth, in line with CHS credentialing and scope of practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support physiotherapists in delivering evidence-based rehabilitation and treatment programs to patients.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate with clients and the healthcare team to ensure individual care needs are met.
• Provide safe, high-quality care across inpatient wards and outpatient services.

About the Role:

Join Acute Allied Health Services (AAHS) Physiotherapy and make a difference in the delivery of high-quality patient care across acute inpatient and specialised outpatient settings.

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will work within a supervision and delegation framework to support physiotherapists in delivering evidence-based rehabilitation and treatment programs. You will collaborate with patients, carers, multidisciplinary teams and other healthcare professionals to achieve safe and effective clinical outcomes.

In this role, you will implement and supervise delegated physiotherapy programs, monitor patient progress, and communicate effectively with clients and the healthcare team to ensure individual care needs are met. You will demonstrate the capabilities of an Allied Health Assistant working at full scope of practice while providing safe, high-quality care to culturally diverse people of all ages.
