Job summary

Perth and Kinross Council is seeking a Social Work Assistant on a fixed term for 6 months to join the Perth City South Adult Social Work and Social Care Team, delivering person-centred support to adults aged 16+.

This role supports long-term complex caseloads, requires strong interpersonal skills, and offers training, flexible working and a pension scheme. You must be registered with the SSSC or willing to apply within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Experience and skills in client needs assessment and care package reviews.
• Sound knowledge of social work principles and values.
• Willingness to apply for SSSC registration within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Outcome Focused Assessments and negotiate flexible care packages.
• Monitor and review individual care packages delivered via SDS.
• Maintain vulnerable people in the community and support complex caseloads.
• Travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross as required.
