Job Title: Social Media Strategist (Freelance)

Location: Hybrid (Sydney)

This role is a freelance position based in Sydney, Australia, with three days in the office and two days in a remote setup.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • Strategic Development: A keen sense for developing innovative strategy solutions, ranging from overarching brand strategy to tactical social, content, and influencer strategies.
  • Insight Generation: An out-of-the-box perspective on data and research, enabling you to uncover compelling consumer insights that we can effectively leverage.
  • Marketing Fundamentals: A strong understanding of core marketing principles.
  • Content Expertise: The ability to effortlessly craft engaging content calendars, comprehensive caption banks, and timely trendjacking posts.
  • Community & Listening Mastery: A deep understanding of community management and social listening, allowing you to truly understand consumer behaviors and conversations.
  • Behavioral Analysis: The skill to read and internalize social media comments, and to accurately differentiate people's behaviors across various social platforms.
  • Consumer Advocacy: The talent to bring the consumer's world to life for creative teams and clients by utilizing qualitative and cultural mining, coupled with insightful synthesis of quantitative research to inform strategic approaches.
  • Compelling Storytelling: The ability to articulate effective strategic rationale and logical flow, transforming insights into a captivating narrative.
  • Deck Crafting: You are a skilled deck crafter, capable of detailing ideas and insights in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner that effectively sells the vision.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Creative Strategist, Social Strategist, or similar role within an agency or in-house brand team, with a strong focus on social media and digital content.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate consumer insights and cultural trends into actionable creative strategies.
  • Expertise in various social media platforms (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest) and an understanding of platform-specific content best practices.
  • Proficiency in social listening and analytics tools.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • A collaborative spirit and a "we-first" mentality, eager to work closely with creative teams.
  • A proactive and curious mindset, always seeking new trends, platforms, and opportunities.
  • Freelance experience preferred, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
