Job description

BackChat Studios is one of Australia’s fastest-growing podcast networks, producing content people actually watch and listen to. With shows across sport, entertainment, and culture, we’re looking for a sharp operator to take our content presence to the next level.

This is a creative, hands-on role for someone with 1–3 years’ experience in social media or content who gets what works online. You’ll work closely with the Head of Content to deliver smart, high-impact content that grows audience, nails sponsor deliverables, and reflects the BackChat tone.

You’ll run multiple content calendars, work directly with talent, and stay on top of what’s trending. You’ll know when to lean into a moment, when to clip something punchy, and how to make the numbers move.

What you’ll do

Content Creation & Scheduling

  • Plan, capture, and produce content (video, visual, written) for Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube
  • Schedule and publish weekly content, both organic and sponsored, on time and at quality
  • Work with podcast talent to plan filming sessions and content creation schedules
  • Keep posting consistent using tools like Metricool (or similar)

Social Strategy & Deliverables

  • Execute the content strategy set by the Head of Content
  • Liaise with producers and editors to make sure every show hits its deliverables
  • Track performance against key targets and report results clearly

Community Engagement

  • Manage comments and DMs with a sharp, authentic tone
  • Keep BackChat’s voice consistent and engaging across all channels

Marketing & Newsletters

  • Build and send weekly Klaviyo newsletters to keep the audience engaged
  • Support marketing and event promotion alongside the BackChat team
  • Help execute sponsor campaigns on time and to a high standard
  • Keep sales decks and one-pagers current in Canva
  • Contribute creative ideas to campaigns and help bring them to life

What we’re looking for

  • 1 - 3 years’ experience in social media, digital marketing, or content creation
  • Confident across Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube with a sharp sense of what works
  • Experience with Metricool (or similar), Klaviyo, and Canva
  • Creative and detail-focused, with strong communication and time management
  • Organised, able to juggle multiple shows, calendars, and campaigns
  • A clear understanding of BackChat’s tone, audience, and culture
