Operational Systems Pty Ltd (OPSYS) in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst to join its Security Operations Centre. You will perform first-line alert review, triage security events, and assist with investigations alongside senior analysts.

Qualifications

• Tertiary study, vocational training, or industry certification in cyber security, information technology, or a related discipline.
• Sound understanding of core cyber security principles, threat landscapes, network security, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
• Hands-on exposure to SIEM platforms, log analysis tools, and Microsoft 365 Security environments.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and attention to detail when reviewing logs and anomalies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for incident documentation and handovers.
• Team player able to collaborate within a SOC and meet customer SLAs.
• Opportunity for growth within a structured SOC capability pathway.
• Hands-on experience across diverse customer environments and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Alert triage and initial investigation in the SOC, analyzing security events and identifying false positives.
• Escalate confirmed or complex incidents with clear context and documentation per SLAs.
• Review and correlate logs from multiple sources to establish incident context.
• Triage Microsoft 365 security alerts (email threats, suspicious sign-ins).
• Document triage and investigation activity in tickets following SOC playbooks.
• Learn from senior analysts and leads to deepen technical depth and incident handling skills.
