Southern NSW Local Health District covers a large area of the state, from Goulburn and Crookwell to the Victorian border, and surrounds the ACT on three sides, a total of 44 537 sq kms. Southern NSWLHD comprises two networks - Inlands centred around Goulburn, Monaro, Queanbeyan and Cooma, and Coastal centred around Bega, Batemans Bay and Moruya in the far south-east corner of NSW and the Integrated Care Network.

The Medical Director District Patient Flow Unit (Physician) is responsible for providing the medical clinical leadership, direction, and strategy for patient flow across Southern NSW Local Health District to support the provision of safe, efficient, consistent and reliable delivery of vital clinical care to acutely unwell patients for optimal patient outcomes.

Provide best practice evidence-based clinical services to achieve quality patient outcomes.
Undertake supervision and education within the clinical environment of junior medical staff and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice.
Utilise information systems to enable informed decision making and care planning.
Communicate with staff and clinicians to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Actively participate in risk management and quality programs to improve organisational processes and own practices
Comply with relevant legislation and regulations, NSW Ministry of Health policies and SNSWLHD procedures to assist in meeting Activity Based Funding, Commonwealth and State targets.
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
