Overview

A high-profile government agency is seeking a SQL Developer to support the business and develop a solution for a collection that provides data wrangling, quality checks, analytics and insights. The hiring manager for this role is someone that we have placed with recently. You will be part of a great team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
• Elicit requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure alignment with SDLC and change management processes.
• Partner with the data modelling team to ensure database designs support analytical and operational needs.
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS and manage deployments via Microsoft DevOps.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL Server, Oracle, SSIS, SSMS, and Microsoft DevOps.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing strategies, query optimization, and data warehousing techniques.
• Familiarity with data modelling concepts
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
• Knowledge of SDLC, change management, and deployment best practices.

Contract details

• 6-month contract with potential extension
• SYD | Hybrid
• Australian citizenship is required
