Anton Murray Consulting is seeking an SMSF Accountant at intermediate to senior level in Sydney. The role supports client growth, offers exposure to diverse clients, and clear career pathways into leadership.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years SMSF experience in a Chartered practice, strong attention to detail, and CA progress. Experience with MYOB, Excel, Class Super, or HowNow is a bonus.

Mansioni

• Prepare SMSF financial statements.

SMSF Accountant - Intermediate to Senior

Our client is a leading ASX-listed Accounting Firm with offices around Australia thats been running for over 20 years.

As anSMSF Intermediate or Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our clients next phase of growth. You’ll work closely with Partners, gain exposure to a diverse client base, and be supported with clear career pathways into leadership.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of 2-3 years SMSF Accounting experience within a Chartered Accounting practice.

Position Responsibilities

• Preparation of SMSF Financial Statements
• Completion of SMSF Annual Returns
• Preparation of Tax Reconciliations
• Reconciliations of investment balances and investment returns
• Calculation of pension liabilities
• BAS & IAS Statements as required
• Preparation of electronic workpapers
• Preparation of audit package and liaising with external auditors
• Preparation of Trustee documentation
• Ensuring work completion satisfying budget and time constraints
• Liaise with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients including the ATO and ASIC
• Work with the Client Director and team to ensure client work is completed within the timeframe allocated
• Preparation of correspondence to clients and other bodies as required
• Other tasks as required

About you

• 2-3 years experience in a chartered accounting practice, with exposure to SMSF or a strong interest in developing SMSF expertise
• Strong attention to detail with good organisational and time management abilities
• Degree qualified, CA completed or near completion
• Experience with or accounting software such as MYOB and Excel; exposure to Class Super and HowNow is a bonus
• Eager to learn, develop, and take on increasing responsibility over time
