Job summary

Civmec is seeking an experienced SMP Supervisors for the BHP Bucket Wheel Reclaimer Upgrade project, delivering critical work across a leading mining operation. You will lead SMP crews, coordinate across mechanical, piping, structural and rigging activities, and drive safety and progress on site.

Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, you will mentor tradespeople, ensure compliance, and collaborate with engineering, quality and commissioning teams to achieve milestones.

Qualifications

• S26 Certification is mandatory for the role.
• Trade qualifications in Pipefitting and Boilermaking are highly regarded.
• Tickets in Rigging and Scaffolding are highly regarded.
• First Aid & CPR certification is required.
• Proven experience supervising SMP works in major construction or heavy industry is essential.
• Experience overseeing piping installation, commissioning and structural/mechanical assembly.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise SMP crews across the BWR7 workfront.
• Coordinate mechanical, piping, structural and rigging activities.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure site compliance.
• Monitor daily progress and help deliver project milestones.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality and commissioning teams.
• Mentor and support tradespeople and leading hands.
