Job summary

PowerVac, part of Bunzl Australasia, seeks a hands-on Small Engine Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair PowerVac cleaning equipment across Western Australia. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, perform preventative maintenance, and complete service documentation to ensure reliability and customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates are mechanically minded, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to liaise with customers and suppliers for timely parts

YOUR ROLE

As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring our service operations run efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing PowerVac products across Western Australia. This role requires strong technical expertise, a customer-focused approach, and excellent communication skills to maximise operational efficiency, minimise costs, and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults across the full range of PowerVac products.
• Perform preventative maintenance, machine inspections, warranty repairs, and breakdown repairs.
• Complete all service-related documentation accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring records are detailed and up to date.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship while adhering to company procedures and safety requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with customers and internal teams to ensure timely resolution of service issues.
  

ABOUT YOU

You are organised, proactive, and mechanically minded, with a hands-on approach to your work. Comfortable using tools and performing technical tasks, you take pride in delivering quality outcomes, solving problems, and maintaining a high level of accuracy. You are also a confident communicator who can build positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience as a Cleaning Machine Service Representative or a trade-based background is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Proven troubleshooting and repair skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Confidence in liaising with suppliers and following up on orders and parts requirements.
• Competence in using inventory management systems and basic computer applications.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with a sound understanding of OH&S practices and procedures.
• A collaborative team-player mindset, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
