Formal Automotive Mechanics qualifications are required along with at least 1 year of experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to quality work. A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport are essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, maintain and test motor vehicles in the workshop.
• Repair and replace worn parts and reassemble mechanical components.
• Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts.
• Test parts with diagnostic tools and computer systems.
• Dismantle and reassemble engines, transmissions and steering components.
• Perform scheduled maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups.
• Reassemble components after repairs and verify proper performance.
• Inspect vehicles for roadworthiness and address required work.
• Respond to vehicle breakdown service calls as needed.
