Job summary

AKAM Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Labourer/Machine Operator for our Brisbane team. This hands-on role requires solid construction site experience and the ability to operate telehandlers and other machinery while supporting daily site operations and material handling.

You will work closely with the Site Manager and trades, maintaining safe work practices and an efficient on-site workflow across residential and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a skilled labouring role within residential and/or commercial construction.
• Experience operating construction machinery, such as telehandlers, forklifts, excavators, skid steers, loaders or similar.
• White Card (General Construction Induction Card) required.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety and safe material handling.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.

• Assist with deliveries, material handling and site logistics
• Carry out general skilled labouring duties as required
• Support trades and subcontractors with day-to-day site activities

• Follow site safety procedures, SWMS and directions from the Site Manager

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Skilled Labourer/Machine Operator to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid construction site experience and the ability to operate a range of machinery and equipment. Experience operating a telehandler is a must, along with experience using other construction machinery. You will work closely with the Site Manager and project team, assisting with daily site operations, material handling and general labouring duties to keep projects running safely and efficiently. This role suits someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in their contribution, and is keen to be part of a well-run construction team.

Key responsibilities

Operate a range of construction machinery and equipment safely and efficiently

Move, load and unload construction materials and equipment around site

Assist with deliveries, material handling and site logistics

Carry out general skilled labouring duties as required

Support trades and subcontractors with day-to-day site activities

Maintain clean, tidy and organised work areas

About you
