Job summary

Qualifications

• Right to work in Australia.
• White Card (Construction Induction) is required.
• Current driver's licence is essential.
• Experience operating excavators and Bobcats (skid steer loaders).
• Relevant plant operating tickets/licences or demonstrated competency.
• Ability to pass AFP Security Check and obtain ASIC.
• Ability to travel throughout Australia and overseas as required.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, Bobcats and other mobile plant as directed.
• Conduct general civil construction and labouring tasks.
• Excavate, trench, backfill and prepare sites.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of airfield lighting infrastructure.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to sites.
• Support site mobilisation/demobilisation and general site prep.
• Work with supervisors, tradespeople, subcontractors and other personnel.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment.

The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of airfield infrastructure and civil construction projects, with work undertaken locally and at various locations throughout Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Operating excavators, Bobcats (skid steer loaders) and other mobile plant and equipment
• Undertaking general civil construction and labouring duties
• Excavation, trenching, backfilling and site preparation works
• Assisting with the installation and maintenance of airfield lighting infrastructure
• Loading, unloading and transporting materials, tools and equipment
• Assisting with site mobilisation, demobilisation and general site preparation
• Working collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, subcontractors and other site personnel
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment

About you

• Previous experience operating excavators and Bobcats (skid steer loaders)
• Relevant plant operating tickets, licences or demonstrated competency
• Ability to pass an AFP Security Check
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout Australia and overseas as required
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and specifications
• Committed, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, with good organisational skills
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to undertake physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
• MR or HR Driver's Licence
• Additional plant operating tickets and experience
• Previous experience in civil construction, trenching and underground infrastructure installation
• Experience working in an airport or airfield environment
