Western Halal Meats Werribee is seeking a full-time butcher or smallgoods maker to join our team. If you value quality over quantity and love meat processing, this role offers hands-on training in a supportive environment.

The position covers boning, slicing, smallgoods preparation, and customer service. A Cert III in Meat Processing is preferred, and proactive teamwork with a strong work ethic is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in meat processing including boning, slicing and small goods.
• Cert III in Meat Processing or equivalent required.
• Proactive team member with a positive work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Participate in team environment to conduct all aspects of butchery from boning to slicing to small goods (training provided if required).
• Meat Processing - butchery.
• Butchery to retail.
• Preparing meat for sale by removing bones, trimming fat and cutting, mincing and grinding meat to shape and size for display or as ordered.
• Preparing crumbed cuts of meat, and marinating, seasoning and curing special cuts.
• Selecting and preparing meat to produce smallgoods.
• Operating machines to grind, mix, mince and tenderise meat.
• Making seasonings and pickles by mixing spices, salt and other ingredients.
• Operating sausage filling machines, smoking chambers, and cooking kettles and vats.
• Advising customers on the suitability and uses of cuts of meat.
