Job description

Orontide is a leading Western Australian company providing specialist engineering, fabrication, preservation, and integrity maintenance services to the Oil & Gas, Mining, Naval Defence, Marine, and Commercial Industries.

An excellent opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified and experienced Site Services Superintendent to join our Port Hedland based team.

*Please note this is a Residential Role, and Relocation and Housing allowance assistance may be approved for the right candidate

About the Role

This role involves managing site teams, liaising with clients to understand requirements, and ensuring job scope outputs meet safety and quality standards. You will take ownership of delivering maintenance, site services work, projects, and shutdowns, ensuring high quality and meeting targets for safety, quality, completion, timing, and cost. Building strong relationships within the team is essential for success.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Meeting and exceeding client expectations through high customer service levels.
  • Setting up projects with baseline schedules, estimates, and assurance parameters.
  • Inspecting and expediting work to meet quality and timing specifications.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with customers to foster loyalty and future business opportunities.
  • Leading, guiding, and developing operational staff while maintaining good employee relations.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and client requirements, including Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the mining/oil & gas industries.
  • Trade or higher qualifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering and production processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to obtain or hold a National Police Clearance.
  • Understanding of safety legislation and practices.
  • Commitment to Safety and Quality.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with scoping and quoting is highly regarded.
