Job summary

Westbury Partners is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer for Data Infrastructure & Distributed Systems to own reliability, scalability, and performance of large-scale data platforms. You will operate distributed systems, solve production challenges, automate infrastructure, and collaborate with technical users to deliver fast, reliable solutions.

You’ll work with traders, researchers, and engineers across multiple locations, gaining hands-on exposure to open-source technologies including

Qualifications

• Hands-on production SRE experience with on-call ownership.
• Experience operating self-managed infrastructure such as bare metal, datacentre environments, VMs, or Kubernetes.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Kafka, HDFS, or Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and CI/CD tooling.
• Python experience for infra tooling.
• Proactive reliability, observability, and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor distributed data platforms (Kafka, HDFS, Kubernetes).
• Manage deployments, upgrades, capacity planning, infra changes, and failure domains.
• Build automation and CI/CD for rapid deployments.
• Participate in on-call rotations; investigate incidents and alerts.
• Diagnose Linux, networking, storage, memory, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with traders, researchers, developers, engineers to solve data problems.
• Evaluate new technologies and drive reliability improvements.
• Develop Python tooling for health checks and automation.
