WesTrac is seeking a Site Performance Specialist (Asset Reliability Engineer) to optimise the Cowal Mine's fleet performance on Cat equipment. You will work with mine site leadership, maintenance teams and Caterpillar specialists to reduce downtime and influence maintenance strategy while expanding commercial and leadership capabilities.

The role offers a competitive salary package ($140k-$160k package dependent on experience) and a fully maintained company vehicle, with a Monday to Friday

Qualifikationen

• Mechanical trades certificate or engineering qualification.
• Minimum 5 years post-trade experience on Cat equipment.
• Strong communication and sales awareness with mining customers.
• Understanding of whole-of-life cost and equipment application.
• Familiarity with CAT systems (DBS, SIS, ET, SIMSi, TMI) is advantageous.

• Review and improve maintenance and operational practices, supporting lifecycle management and breakdown response coordination.
• Identify and develop aftermarket sales opportunities through regular customer engagement and fleet analysis.

You'll work directly with mine site leadership, maintenance teams and Caterpillar specialists to optimise equipment performance, reduce downtime and influence long-term maintenance strategies while building your commercial and leadership capability with WesTrac.

Key Responsibilities

Build andmaintainstrong relationships withour keycustomer,Caterpillarandinternal stakeholders, actingas the on-site technical liaison across Cowal and Wagga

Analyse fleet performance data toidentifyunderperforming assetsand providetimely, effective technical solutions to equipment issues

Conduct wear management inspections and provide condition monitoring recommendations to optimise total cost of ownership, supported byhigh-qualitytechnical reports

Work closely with the customertoresolve unplanned downtime,providingon-site technical advice,troubleshootingand warranty support

Review, assess, and recommend improvements to maintenance and operational practices, and supportcomponentlifecycle management and breakdown response coordination

Identifyand develop aftermarket sales opportunities through regular customer engagement and fleet analysis, referring qualified opportunities to the Mining Support Manager to support business growth

Skills and Experience

Mechanical Trade Certificate (or tertiary qualification in Engineering) plus a minimum of 5 years' post-trade experience on Cat equipment

Sound commercial acumen,with the ability toidentifyandclearly communicate sales and aftermarket opportunities to the Mining Support Manager

Strong understanding of whole-of-life cost, Fleet Production Cost (FPC) and equipment application, with familiarity with CAT systems (DBS, SIS, ET,SIMSi, TMI) an advantage

Demonstrated high-levelcustomerrelationship managementandadvanced communication skills

Provenability to troubleshoot equipment faults, analyse data and compile reports to drive performance improvement

A strong safety-first mindset, with the ability to work autonomously or within a team across a 5/2 roster
