About the Role

The Site Manager for the Trangie Research Station plays a pivotal role in shaping the success of DPIRD’s research programs. You’ll lead the day‑to‑day management of the station’s agricultural infrastructure, resources and production systems, ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently and to a high commercial and research standard.

Working closely with site leaders, DPIRD researchers and commercial partners, you’ll oversee operations that support crops, pastures and livestock and building/site management while balancing the needs of research excellence with best practice agricultural production. This is a hands‑on leadership role where your decisions directly influence research outcomes, commercial performance and the long‑term sustainability of the site.

To support the operational nature of the role, on‑site accommodation is provided at a significantly subsidised rent, giving you the convenience of living close to the station’s daily activity and seasonal demands.

Our sites support a diverse range of DPIRD research programs, commercial activities and collaborative projects with industry partners. We take pride in maintaining a site that is safe, productive and future‑focused, a place where great ideas can be tested, refined and delivered for industry impact.
