Job summary

J. Furphy & Sons is seeking a Site HSEQ Officer to implement and maintain site-level health, safety, environment and quality policies across the Northern Region Galvanizing operations.

You will conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and deliver toolbox talks, training and induction sessions for employees and contractors, reporting to the Group HSEQ Manager and Site General Manager. Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in an HSEQ role within manufacturing or high-risk environments.
• Working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, environmental regulations, and quality management.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSEQ audits.
• Ability to deliver toolbox talks and HSEQ training to a diverse workforce.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and HSEQ software.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain site-level HSEQ policies and safe work instructions.
• Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification walks, and risk assessments.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Coordinate Site Safety Committee meetings and support Health and Safety Representatives.
• Maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
• Support environmental procedures and report performance data.
• Coordinate and deliver site-based HSEQ inductions and training.
• Prepare for external audits and regulatory inspections.
• Report to Group HSEQ Manager and Site General Manager.
