Job summary

W Talent is seeking a Site Engineer for a 21-level residential tower project on the Gold Coast. You’ll be embedded on site from early, cycling through floors with a new local subcontractor base, shaping standards across eighteen further cycles.

This role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager, collaborating with the Project Manager and site team to manage submittals, RFIs and commissioning, while maintaining sequence with foremen and trades.

Qualifications

• Site engineering experience — civil, commercial or residential counts.
• Carpentry or building trade background, or construction-related tertiary training (engineering included).
• Strong coordination and communication; a lot of this role is getting other people to do things properly.
• Confident in Procore or similar, and current first aid.
• Passive fire experience on multi-residential is a real advantage, not a deal-breaker.

Responsibilities

• Work site-specific details, construction methodology and design coordination with the design team before trades start, not after.
• Own submittals and shop drawings — precast, balustrades and screens, joinery — through to consultant and client approval.
• Raise RFIs and drive them to closeout.
• Support the foremen on sequencing: structure, services rough-ins, follow-on access.
• Source out-of-scope and time-critical items so work fronts don't sit blocked.
• Run the inspection and ITP program progressively through Procore, auditing trade works against the drawings, specs and standards.
• Plan the run to CoC and PC — testing and commissioning, certifier and council inspections.
• Coordinate the defects program through pre-settlement and handover.
