Job summary

Geelong-based civil construction group seeks a Site Engineer to support project delivery alongside the Project Manager and Project Engineer. You will handle site activities, contract administration, and timely submission and close-out of variations and notices, while monitoring subcontractors and suppliers to protect client relationships.

The successful candidate will have Civil Engineering qualifications and 2–5 years in a similar role, ideally with Melbourne contractors.

Job description

This Civil construction group is expanding nationally and with new work secured in the Geelong area, they are looking to add a Site Engineer to their team. The company carries out Greenfield works (Civil earthworks etc) for high profile clients with the initial project contract value at approx $40 million.

As Site Engineer you will work closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to focus on delivering project outcomes. The role will cover general site activities including Contract Administration matters relating to the contract and the need to accurately and in a timely manner identify, submit and close out variations and associated notices. You will closely monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure a positive result and maintain the client relationship.

To suit this role it is expected you have relevant Civil Engineering qualifications and have 2 - 5 years experience working in a similar function, ideally in Melbourne with recognisable contractors. You will need to be a motivated person who can work in an autonomous manner with an ability to achieve results in a construction site environment. Future work has been secured so this is seen as a long term appointment. Please note only candidates located in Melbourne of Geelong areas will be considered.
